How we build a false ceiling

Lighting is planned before the boards go up, not after.

Design & Measurement

We measure the room, discuss ceiling height and lighting layout, and sketch out the design before ordering material.

Framing

A GI channel or wood frame is fixed to the slab, level and spaced correctly to carry the ceiling board.

Board Fixing / POP Work

Gypsum boards are screwed into the frame, or POP is applied and moulded, depending on the design chosen.

Electrical Coordination

Cutouts for lights and wiring are planned and cut in coordination with your electrician, before the final finish.

Jointing, Painting & Handover

Joints are taped and finished smooth, the ceiling is primed and painted, and the site is cleaned before handover.

Common questions

Quick answers before you call.

How long does a living room false ceiling take?

A standard living room, gypsum board with basic cove lighting, usually takes 3 to 5 days including painting.

How much height does a false ceiling take up?

A simple flush design needs as little as 4 to 6 inches. A design with cove lighting or multiple levels needs more — we'll tell you the exact drop before you commit.

Can lighting be added to a plain ceiling later?

It's possible, but it means opening the ceiling up again. It's far cheaper to plan lighting cutouts before the boards go up.

Do you do both gypsum board and POP?

Yes, and we'll recommend whichever suits your design, budget and timeline — they're not interchangeable in every situation.

Planning a false ceiling for your hall or bedroom?

Tell us the room size and the kind of lighting you want, and we'll work out a design and estimate.
